CHASE BANK FILES FOR APPROVAL TO BUILD IN THE PRESERVE AREA AT THE  JUPITER FARMS CENTER

Chase has been interested in this property for a while and wants to build a branch in the preserve area complete with a parking area and drive in windows.

Bushel Stop, 103rd Terrace & Indiantown Road

When the Solid Waste Authority became aware, several years ago, that the three Bushel Stop nurseries, in Delray, Jupiter and Lantana, were operating yard trash (landscape material) transfer stations. SWA suggested that these operations needed SWA operating permits. As part of this process, the matter was referred back to PBC Planning and Zoning to clarify the condition that transfer station were allowed as an incidental service  to the businesses with a primary nursery designation. In February 2011, the SWA Board heard the matter, and after public input, and because of the issues involved in quantifying what was an incidental use, denied the permits

In August, the SWA Board deferred, unitl its next scheduled meeting, 9 am Wednesday, October 12th 2011, any further consideration of the Bushel Stop permits in order to have a properly noticed public hearing on permitting a transfer station.

It is a technical morass, but the bottom line is that each Bushel Stop facility is seeking a permit to accept and then transfer out up to 1,500 yards each month. That’s a lot of truck traffic into and out of the first road west of the Jupiter Farms Shopping Center. An OGEM road that also has another nursery operation, long term residents, and the soon to be constructed Seventh Day Adventist church.

Calvary Church

Calvary Church now owns the southwest corner of the Jupiter Farms Center – the seven acre Utility parcel.

In July 2011, Calvary purchased the Utility parcel and with this acquisition, is again redoing its expansion plans. The latest plan has not

yet been filed with the County.

The church currently owns two buildings in the Center, lots 11A and 11B, just west of Clubhouse U, totaling 14,500 square feet. The

new property is just across the street to the south of Clubhouse U. Planned for this parcel are two Church buildings, and 18,000 sf

sanctuary and a 35,000 sf building for a school  sometime in the future. The Church also shows 20,000 sf of retail/office that may be avilable to others.
