Vandals Targeting Horses in PBCE
I have been monitoring what is happening in Palm Beach Country Estates for about 18 hours and I believe everyone should be aware. COP and their Neighborhood Watch and PBSO is ramping up the surveillance over there. It is just a matter of time that the problem will move to JF if we aren’t on top of things. They are gaining access to properties with horses from canals… but that is NOT exclusive. They are cutting off horse’s tails and it is interesting they are leaving SOME of the hair which makes me think it could be a horse person who isn’t going to take it all. There is money in this.Part of the problem is that people are hearing their dogs barking at night and blowing it off as maybe a racoon or something… DON’T… if you have horses… get up and turn lights on and go out to your barn with something to use as a weapon… bat, gun, whatever. If you see something call 911 immediately and try to get a description of the person or vehicle and try to avoid a confrontation… Let PBSO handle it.
If you can put your horses inside and shut the barn and maybe put some noise makers around so if a gate or barn door is opened you will know it. Here are a few excerpts as to what is happening. If the people of JF can be vigilant right away we can keep it from happening. It seems to be happening at night. As you can see this has been going on for months and not much was done to stop it. They don’t come every night. So… now, for the first time, the people in PBCE are aware and that awareness and the efforts of their NW PBSO and COP will scare them off and we have to worry to where… they don’t stop.
Please be on the alert for unusual activity around your property, you never can tell who sees something gets a plate number and helps catch these people. So, send to non horse people… they can be helpful.

Last week a good friend of mine woke up around 4:45am he noticed his spot lights that are on motions were lit up. He took a peek out of a window to check out his cars in the driveway and there were 2 young men going through his truck.
He was startled and hit his panic button and scared them away. He then call the cops and they showed up in just a few minutes. They told him if he and called them first they would have gotten caught.
It seems they are lifting door handles and there seems to be a lot of people who don’t lock there cars out here at night.

Next door neighbor had that problem some months back. They now lock the vehicles…….told him to think about this: garage door remote is in the vehicle, all it takes is to hit the button, the bad guys are now in the house….he got the point. We go out of our way to ensure everything is in the lockdown mode at night, when we are away, even when at home. Doesn’t take much to ensure your own security.
That said, it amazes me how many naive people are out here………..we’re in the country, we don’t have any problems, etc………..it only takes one time to make them believers.
