The Jupiter Farms Residents, Inc. (JFR) is a liaison between governmental agencies and the community; it strives to keep the Farms residents informed of issues that affect Jupiter Farms, to protect the rural lifestyle, and to give their feedback to government entities.

JFR supports the programs of various Jupiter Farms community organizations, provides community and family outings, and funds scholarships for Jupiter Farms students through various fund raising.
Serving and Protecting Our Rural Lifestyle

JFR history
JFR was organized in the early nineties when many Farms residents opposed a regional shopping center that was suggested for the property on which the Jupiter Farms Shopping Center has been built. The founding members of JFR were instrumental in getting the proposed center downsized, operating hours appropriate for the Farms area, and architectural guidelines for country-style buildings suitable for the rural community were established.JFR has been and will always be committed to furthering and preserving the country life style of the Farms.

Farms residents cherish the open space around their homes. They want to be able to see the stars at night. They want the privilege of having horses and farm animals, chickens and ducks on their properties. Many residents favor the Swales to Trails concept, a project of Jupiter Farms Environmental Council, that is being developed in conjunction with the ever-expanding greenway areas connecting preserved lands. Farms residents like seeing the hawks, owls, waterfowl and songbirds in their yards.

JFR Sponsors Community events

In addition to these civic efforts, JFR sponsors  community events each year, The spring event is the Palm Sunday Easter Egg hunt and Family Fun Day.

In those years where there are County and/or State and National elections, JFR hosts a Meet Your Candidates night with a potluck supper for the community. JFR is a sponsor of the spring and fall clean up days, and each Christmas, sells the freshest Fraser firs in town to fund four $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to outstanding Jupiter Farms graduation seniors who plan to continue their education.

Volunteers are always welcome to help with these activities or to serve on JFR committees, such as the Park committee or the Historical committee, a new JFR effort to memorialize Farms history via a collection of documents, photos and personal recollections of the Farms

This fall JFR plans to sponsor a Christmas Decorations contest to recognize those spectacular displays Farms residents are treated to each year.

All these activities are accomplished through the efforts of many dedicated volunteers. There are those that help with every event and those who help whenever they can. We need you all, and the community thanks you all.

Plan on coming to JFR’s meetings, the second Thursday of each month through the school year at the Elks on Indiantown Rd. There are always refreshments, updates on current issues and projects, and programs of interest to Farms residents.
